Baby bedding can pose some real safety hazards; this is something expectant parents are often unaware of when they are looking for baby bedding. It’s very easy to get caught up in cute comforters and matching colors; never thinking that those same items may be dangerous, so here are some tips to ensure that your baby’s crib is a safe and comfortable space, while still looking stylish.
When it comes to baby bedding, only fitted sheets and light weight receiving blankets are necessary. Until the age of 2, the use of a comforter in baby bedding is unnecessary. Do not cover your child in a heavy blanket before he or she is a year old, because your child may overheat or even suffocate when covered by the blanket.
You should monitor the nursery’s temperature to prevent the use of heavy blankets, and you should have the baby wear lightweight one-piece pajamas in the summer and thicker sleep outfits or wearable blankets during the winter.
