At the age of 40, a man’s prostate begins to grow naturally, which is called benign prostatic hyperplasia. However this enlargement can be one of the biggest health problems in men over 60. The size of the prostate can press on a man’s urethra. Urination is not easy if this happens. A man may experience trouble going to the bathroom or having very little urination, urine leakage or perhaps even blood as enlarged prostate symptoms. There is enlarged prostate treatment though. Check with your doctor as he may hold off on medicine for mild symptoms and simply request frequent check-ups. For more serious situations, medicine or perhaps an operation are available to make life more comfortable.
Everyone can do something to ensure their natural prostate health. When the need to urinate arises, make sure to go right away and until your bladder is empty. Unfortunately you can’t prevent prostate enlargement since it is part of aging, but you can help make it easier. Don’t drink fluids after 6:00 to avoid feeling the need to urinate in the night. Infections can be thwarted by a lot of water consumption, but if you need to go to the bathroom often, this may not be a good idea. Also, cranberry juice has shown signs of helping with urinary tract infections. Having an enlarged prostate doesn’t have to make life difficult.
